Merhamet-God’s mercy

 Hz. İsa, Rabbine yağmur yağdırması için dua ediyordu. Bunun üzerine Rabbi ona şöyle buyurdu:

“Ey İsa! Kavminin içinde yıllardır bana isyan eden biri var. Onu kavminden uzaklaştır ki yağmur yağdırayım.”

Hz. İsa şaşkınlıkla sordu:

“Ey Rabbim! Bunca insanın arasında o kişiyi nasıl bulabilirim?”

Rabbi şöyle buyurdu:

“Ey İsa! Kavmini topla ve onlara seslen. Yıllardır Allah’a isyan eden kişi öne çıksın, de.”

Hz. İsa kavmini topladı ve halkına seslendi:

“Aranızda yıllardır Allah’a isyan eden biri var. Her kimse öne çıksın!”

Kalabalığın arasındaki bir kadın başını eğdi, çarşafıyla yüzünü kapattı ve içinden Rabbine yalvarmaya başladı:

“Ey Allah’ım! Yıllardır sana isyan ettim. Bunca zamandır beni ifşa etmedin de bugün mü ifşa edeceksin? Ne olur, beni bu insanların içinde rezil etme. Beni affet, Allah’ım!”

Kadın gözyaşları içinde tövbe ederken ertesi gün gökyüzünü bulutlar kapladı ve yağmur yağmaya başladı.

Hz. İsa Rabbine seslendi:

“Ey Rabbim! O kişiyi bulamadık ama sen yine de yağmur yağdırdın. Bunun hikmeti nedir?”

Rabbi şöyle buyurdu:

“Ey İsa! Sen kavmine seslendiğinde o kulum tövbe etti ve benden af diledi. Ben de onu affettim ve yağmurun yağmasına izin verdim.”

Hz. İsa merakına yenik düştü ve Rabbine yeniden sordu:

“Ey Rabbim! Yıllardır sana isyan eden o kişi kimdir? Onunla konuşmak isterim.”

Rabbi ise Hz. İsa’ya şöyle buyurdu:

“Ey İsa! Yıllardır ifşa etmediğim kulumu, tövbe ederken mi ifşa edeceğim?”

Prophet Jesus was praying to his Lord, asking Him to send rain. Then his Lord said to him:

“O Jesus! Among your people is someone who has been disobeying Me for years. Remove that person from among them, and I will send down rain.”

Prophet Jesus asked in astonishment:

“My Lord! How can I find that person among so many people?”

His Lord replied:

“O Jesus! Gather your people and call out to them. Tell them that whoever has been disobeying Allah for years should step forward.”

Prophet Jesus gathered his people and addressed them:

“There is someone among you who has been disobeying Allah for years. Whoever you are, step forward!”

A woman in the crowd lowered her head, covered her face with her veil, and began pleading with her Lord silently in her heart:

“O Allah! I have disobeyed You for years. You have concealed my sins all this time. Will You expose me today? Please, do not humiliate me in front of these people. Forgive me, O Allah!”

As the woman repented through her tears, clouds covered the sky the following day, and rain began to fall.

Prophet Jesus called out to his Lord:

“My Lord! We could not find that person, yet You still sent down rain. What is the wisdom behind this?”

His Lord replied:

“O Jesus! When you called out to your people, that servant of Mine repented and begged Me for forgiveness. I forgave her and allowed the rain to fall.”

Overcome by curiosity, Prophet Jesus asked his Lord once more:

“My Lord! Who is that person who disobeyed You for years? I would like to speak with her.”

His Lord replied to Prophet Jesus:

“O Jesus! Would I expose a servant whose sins I concealed for years, now that she has repented?”
